General Testimonial

Almost 2 years ago after a minor trigger finger surgery, Dr. Saillant discovered a serious infection in my long finger on my right hand. He did several debridement surgeries to clean it out and was forced to remove both flexor tendons which meant I could not close my fist. With this infection persisting he had the wisdom to send me to Mass General where I stayed for almost 3 weeks. I had a stubborn fungal infection, but eventually it was diagnosed and treated.

Over the last year and a half Dr. Saillant has done stage reconstruction of my long finger. He rebuilt the pulleys that hold the tendon to the bone using a tendon from my forearm. Once that was healed, he replaced the tendon with another tendon from my foot.

Yesterday he did one last surgery to adjust the tension of that tendon and I now have a finger that moves the way it used to.  It’s nothing short of miraculous.

I’ve been in the new surgery center at Orthopedics New England a few times and I have engaged other doctors there.  I’ve had two rotator cuff surgeries with Dr. Christiano and two cervical fusions with Dr. Zannikos. Both with excellent outcomes. Dr. Finno helps me with cortisone injections when my lower spine acts up. I am a 60-year-old man who loves to mountain bike, ski, surf and backpack. I would not be able to continue these activities without these amazing surgeons.

If you are considering treatment at Orthopedics New England, I could not give them a better recommendation. Despite all of my injuries, I feel blessed to have access to these doctors who have been able to correct problems with excellent outcomes.

I had the pleasure of going into your Newton office in April 2021 for severe knee pain to the point I could not sleep any longer because of it. Upon arriving at the office, I was greeted warmly and professionally. The X-ray tech was great. After reviewing my X-rays, it was explained to me I would need double knee replacements, but I could receive cortisone for some relief. I was given a painless shot and was quickly on my way back out to the office. When I was standing in the office, I quickly realized I had just had the perfect doctor’s visit! I have had 22 surgeries on my left leg and have visited doctors’ offices’ hundreds of times, and this was my best visit ever! Please pass my praise to everyone in your office, and thank you for running such a great place!

Hi Alice,

Today is my last day at Millis for the summer, so I wanted to send a message that I’m hoping you can please share with the staff at ONE. I just want to extend a sincere thank you to all the doctors, PAs, and support staff there, on behalf of myself and Millis Athletics, for all of your help, care, and support through this past school year. I feel very lucky and privileged to have an entire orthopedics office of people who I trust and can always rely on as a resource for the athletes and families here in Millis. You have no idea how much it helps me to do my job knowing that you are able and willing to accommodate the athletes I care for here. Everyone there is always so helpful and easy to communicate with, whether it’s with booking appointments, getting notes from the medical staff, consulting with them on specific athletes, and especially being willing to work on Saturdays in the fall to provide even more services for our athletes! You are all appreciated very much, and I wish you and your families a wonderful summer!
Sincerely,

Sean E. Rockett, M.D.

In 2011, Doctor Rocket did a total knee replacement on my left knee. The original injury occurred in 1973 result of football injury in college. As time went by, I healed and was able to continue to take part in various activities as skiing, racing motocross, and hiking. As time progressed and I aged the knee got worse. Working in construction industry took its toll. The knee joint was totally wiped out. I initially saw two other doctors who had worked with various pro sports teams. Both were not very well received and said partial replacement would work. Did not feel good about that. Then I ran into a man who had his shoulder done by Dr. Rockett. I made an appt and immediately I was convinced he would do it. He also stated after surgery, it was one of the worst knees he had ever seen. I was bow legged because the knee was so deformed. Pain was constant but after the replacement everything turned around. I had the replacement in February and was back to work by late April. My job was with the Dept. of Agriculture Mosquito Reclamation. A very active physical job but bounced back incredibly. The PT was the key after surgery and continued into May. Doctor Rockett turned my life around and now fully retired I can do work I never could do with zero pain or problems! Doctor Rockett is the best!! Thanks Doc!! Now my wife is coming to look at hip replacement as well.

I had ACL reconstruction surgery, with meniscus repair, which resulted from a pretty yucky skiing accident I had in Telluride. Enter my fantastic surgeon, Dr. Sean Rockett. From my first visit to his office, I felt understood as an athlete, carded for, and as if I was in excellent hands in all ways. From the nurse who helped me prep for surgery, to the anesthesiologist who was fantastic, to everyone I met along the way, I cannot say enough good things about how they helped me though what is, admittedly, a pretty miserable experience. Thank you to everyone there.

Dear Dr. Rockett,

Thank you!!! If you told me 8 months ago, I would wake up feeling the way I do this morning I would have never believed you! I am extremely grateful to have been referred to you. I appreciate all your efforts to help me attempt to avoid surgery, but am also so appreciate that I always knew in the back of my mind that you could fix my shoulder if PT did not resolve things. That gave me the confidence I needed to push through. I am 2 weeks out from surgery and woke up this morning for the very first time with little to zero stiffness or discomfort! My shoulder felt normal. Yesterday, I got in my first real workout since my injury. I walked to Orange Theory and was able to do every exercise (with the exception of one very slight modification). I was shocked! Thank you!

Thank you so much, Dr. Rockett; for the past five years, you have kept me going by taking care of my knee arthritis. This past July 2020, you performed knee replacement on me, and I am now able to walk, ride a bike, and get up off my chair without pain. Every medical professional helping me through my recovery would remark on my incision. They asked me who did your surgery. That is the best incision I have ever seen. Thank you, Dr. Rockett; I can now start to resume my activities without pain.

My surgery was excellent. I was able to walk well by week 4. I was weight-bearing within 2 days. The scaring was minimal and in spite of a very bad case of osteoarthritis, Dr. Rockett gave me back my ability to once again go to the gym, ride a bike and take a walk with my dogs. Amazing how those simple things in life are so important for a complete and joy-filled lifestyle. Thanks again, Dr. Rockett.

In 2016 Dr. Rockett replaced my left knee, now I set off metal detectors. Hey, what are you gonna do? Everything went perfect, no problems! In 2017 he did my right knee, same results, perfect. Dr. Rockett is that good. The only problem is I only have two knees. I won’t need him again for 15-20 years.

Dr. Rockett, I want to thank you for the excellent job you did on my left hip replacement. This replacement is going even better than the right one. I was on one crutch for two days, then on a cane in the house for 10 more days (I still used it outside). I was driving at 17 days and totally without a cane after my first outpatient PT visit (18 days post-surgery). My PT said I am a true “legend” in hip replacements. I am extremely happy to be where I am in my recovery and look forward to seeing your physician assistant, Nury Flynn, next Monday.

At the advice of a friend, I visited Dr. Rockett as a result of a fall on ice, injuring both my left knee and right shoulder. I was hesitant to visit him because I believed specialists who are good with knees usually are just ok with shoulders. I could not have been more wrong. Dr.Rockett first successfully repaired my meniscus. The day after surgery I was walking well and had no pain. In a week it was like nothing happened. Three weeks later Dr. Rockett repaired my rotator cuff, bicep tendon, impingement, etc. I was amazed again. Minimum discomfort. In two weeks I was going to physical therapy. My shoulder and arm are stiff but no pain. I have told my story to a number of folks, some of who have made appointments for their difficulties. He is the best orthopedic surgeon you could ask for.

Hey Dr. Rockett,

Haven’t run into you for a while, but wanted to give you an update and thank you for my shoulder repair. Feels amazing, stringing muscle-ups again, and actually squat snatched 160# the other day (which prior to surgery I was struggling to hit 135# without significant pain). Most importantly, no pain day-to-day activities. I can throw a football with my son without any discomfort, pick him up over my head and do all those things that dads do with rambunctious toddlers.

It’s hard to put into words how much pain I was in before I decided to see Dr. Rockett about my right hip. I knew him well already because of prior issues with a knee and a shoulder. There was no question in my mind I wanted him to take care of my hip as well. After exhausting all other options, he told me a total hip replacement was my only remaining treatment and I remember thinking it was a joke. I was just barely 50 at the time. The pain of recovery was far less than the presurgical pain. Within a month, I was back to walking my dog–which is all I really cared about. Not long after, my left hip started to bother me. And it got worse and worse until I was back to see Dr. Rockett, who once again tried all other options. At this point I wasn’t shocked when he said a replacement was the last treatment option. It’s now two years after the second hip replacement, and according to my FitBit, I walk over 35 miles a week. Everyone involved with Orthopedics New England is fantastic. Dr. Rockett has certainly seen me at my very worst (presurgical caffeine withdrawal headache!), and he has never had anything but a smile for me. In all these years and the many visits, he has only been late one time–and it was due to a surgical procedure running long. That’s an amazing record for a busy surgeon. I will continue to trust him with all of my orthopedic needs. In addition to replacing both hips, he has repaired both shoulders, and worked on one knee. I highly recommend him!

Turn around and forget going into Boston. This hospital and their staff are incredible! (and I’ve spent plenty of time at number 1 MGH). Our first experience was my husband’s hip replacement. The doctor (Sean Rockett) had great bedside manner. He listened to our concerns and explained everything. We left feeling very comfortable with our decision.

The next step was an info class. The nurse who made the presentation answered EVERY question, brought visual aids and did it all with a smile and sincerity that made you feel like your favorite aunt was going to be holding your hand through the whole process. The day of surgery was like a well-orchestrated symphony from the folks in pre-op to the amazing!!! Volunteers who staffed the family waiting area. That crew of volunteers walked around and talked to families, told you when your family member was in recovery, escorted you to recovery. I chose to leave once I knew my husband’s surgery was done and until he was ready to be transferred to his room. The volunteers gave me their business cards with their direct phone line AND THEN CALLED ME WHEN HE WAS TRANSFERRED – including which hospital entrance would be best to use when I came back and how to get to his room and his room phone number.

His room was unlike any other I’ve been in. A single with a bathroom and shower and a couch that opened up into a bed if I wanted to stay. I stink at directions so I actually walked around the hospital more than necessary. When I said that to his nurse, she offered to walk me to the best elevator to use when I was ready to leave. His dinner was delivered by a young man dressed like a waiter and looked like a dinner you would be served in an upscale restaurant – including butternut squash that really didn’t look or taste like hospital food! And family members can also order a meal and eat with them.

So a couple of weeks ago when I found a lump in my breast I chose Newton Wellesley for my mammogram. I went first to their Walpole site. I had been laid off a week after my husband’s surgery so I wanted to move fast since I carried the family health insurance.  The technician offered to make sure my films were read right away the next day as she would be at the hospital that day. Most comforting was the hug she gave me before I left. The next day they called to schedule a follow up mammogram and ultrasound – carried out by and read by the head of radiology. I left with good news and much relief.

Well when it rains it pours. Last week I cut my thumb and needed stitches – on a Saturday night after all the urgent care centers had already closed. Back to NWH. I was in and out of the ER in less than 40 minutes with 3 stitches I never felt going in. There’s a hospital in the town where I live and without traffic, we could drive 10 minutes longer than NWH to Boston but I won’t ever bother. NWH – our family’s hat is off to you and all of your amazing staff!!! I hope we don’t need your services often but when we do, we feel confident knowing we’ll get expert care with you!!

I just wanted to take a moment and thank Dr. Sean Rockett for the great work on the two surgeries he did for me. I had a rotated cuff done back in December 2013 and elbow surgery in August 2014. Dr. Rockett performed a Bankart repair on my shoulder. I sought him out as a surgeon (changed my pcp to get the referral) because I knew he was a fellow athlete and would consider my activity level. His diagnosis and treatment were perfect, we tried traditional methods before surgery and he did not waste time once it was established that I did require the procedure. He explained everything to me in great detail. I am five months after the surgery and my quality of life is dramatically improved, I can sleep at night without pain. He is well balanced in the post op approach, I felt that I moved along at the proper pace during the physiotherapy stage and am now back to regular athletic workouts (85% strength, 95% rom). He knew my athletic profile and was neither too conservative or too liberal in getting me back to the gym. Additionally, he was extremely accessible during all phases of my treatment and prepared my expectations accurately. I would highly recommend Dr. Rockett.

Dear Dr. Rockett,
Well it’s hard to believe that it’s been one year since taking a chance on you and your scalpel to give back my pain free days. I’ve got to tell you it was pretty hard being confident that anything or anyone could take the pain away. I never would’ve imagined that “arthritis” could be so debilitating and I’ve finally accepted that I truly am pain free every morning when my toes touch the ground! I wonder with every step if I’m dreaming! I’m sorry it has taken me so long to let you know how grateful I am for your help but I had to be 100% certain that the surgery worked. I don’t know what kind of note I would’ve written if it hadn’t been this successful. Maybe you wouldn’t have wanted to read this note!
Thank you from the very bottom of my heart,

Agam A. Shah, M.D.

After suffering from severe arthritis and bone spurs in my right hip for a few months, I began researching orthopedic surgeons with high ratings and excellent recommendations, along with referrals from past patients regarding Orthopedics New England. From my initial appointment with Dr. Shah to my condition at present, 11 weeks since my hip replacement, my experience was flawless. I am pain-free, with 90% full range of motion restored, improving each day. Dr. Shah was extremely thorough at my initial visit, explaining my condition at that time in full, along with treatment options, in complete detail as well. The Orientation Class at MetroWest Medical Center in Natick prior to surgery was very informative, and the pre-op testing was thorough. The day of surgery greeting, prep process, and care of all the staff was thorough and exceptional, as was my two-night stay in the hospital. And the food was excellent. Thank you, Dr. Shah, Orthopedics New England, and MetroWest Medical Center.

I had a total hip replacement in February 2017, performed by Dr. Shah. I am extremely happy with every aspect of my surgery, from the time Dr. Shah first met with me, right through my recovery and physical therapy. He gave me a thorough explanation of how everything would be handled, and this whole venture turned out to be a “no surprises” experience. He did an excellent job, and I was able to get back to normal activities very quickly. I cannot thank him enough for his professionalism and extraordinary talent. Dr. Shah recently treated me for a torn rotator cuff. He was my second opinion doctor and I stayed with him as my 1st choice. His caring way, professional manner and interest in my situation won me over. My husband and I have a very active life style- biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, xcountry skiing, down hill skiing, snowshoeing (yadda yadda yadda). It was important for us to find the best plan for my situation so as we head into our 50’s we are able to continue doing what we love to do as well as stay healthy. My plan was to get better without surgery. Dr. Shah’s plan was the same and with his guidance I am surgery free and better. I am on my way to “having my health 100% restored and getting back to enjoying my active lifestyle”. I am thrilled to report that this weekend we will be kayaking for the first time this Summer. I am so happy. Thank you Dr. Shah!!!!

Wow..I can walk normally again! I limped into Orthopedics New England after injuring my knee and was diagnosed with a large tear in the meniscus of my right knee. I am 61 and have never had surgery before, so I was quite apprehensive. Surgery was scheduled with Dr Shah. Surgery was performed on 3/23/12 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. After surgery I was issued crutches and wheeled to the car. I never needed the crutches. I walked from the car up the stairs into the house. Following Dr Shah’s instructions, I “iced and elevated” for 48 hours. I never experienced any pain and never even took an aspirin.
The follow up exam was great. Thanks Dr Shah!

Arthur F. Christiano, M.D.

About two and a half years ago, I had rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder after injuring myself from lifting something that the younger version of me could have handled. I saw Dr. Christiano, who explained that upon surgery, even with proper rehab, that I could possibly expect a return of 80-90% mobility. He underestimated himself. I did the rehab and it’s been over two years with 100% mobility with a quicker recovery than expected as well. I can sleep with my arm over my head, play golf and take a divot without any pain whatsoever, and no problem reaching behind me to put my belt through the back loop. Outstanding work!

I have the best care at Orthopedics New England. My first need was shoulder replacement. I was told by many people that it would take a long time to heal and therapy would be very painful. Well, I’m here to tell you for me it was a walk in the park! Not everyone will have my experience, but if Arthur Christiano M.D. is your surgeon you just upped your odds for a great recovery. Oh, I almost forgot I have had both shoulders done!

—Ed Hendershaw

I had very little movement in my right shoulder. I went to see Dr. Christiano who gave me 1 cortisone shot which did not help. I had another cortisone shot under x-ray guidance which helped very little. He then ordered an MRI which showed a small rotator cuff tear and 2 bone spurs, so we scheduled surgery. After surgery, it was found that the rotator cuff was fine, and he removed the large bone spurs plus lots of arthritis. I am going back to work 30 days sooner than expected. I was EXTREMELY lucky to have found this doctor. He is always on time, professional and pleasant. He gets 10 stars!

Mark Rose, D.P.M.

As a “40 Something” year old Mom who has been lucky enough to be able to continue my life long love of horses, riding my own and training others, it was devastating to me in May breaking my foot while under saddle. As a Mom of three a lot of my time is spent on my kiddos. My Equestrian world has become just for me and enables me to be a better Mom as I too, have and live my love as well. I was really frustrated hearing the news of surgery as I have never had surgery in my forty…well life :)! Dr. Rose was incredible, put me at ease, encouraged me, praised me for a healthy active non smoking lifestyle and most important gave me complete hope for a quick and full “back in the saddle” recovery. Well, gosh darn, didn’t it happen just as he said! I’m so happy to be back on my horses and feeling perfect. Lost 25 lbs in the recovery process so an added bonus. The staff in Natick has been wonderful… Always friendly and always supportive. I am so happy today to be once again smelling as awful as I do from barn chores and riding. Thank you to Dr. Rose and staff in Natick. You were what made this Mom be able to continue to have something just for her. Many thanks, Kristin

I have had ankle pain for a while as my primary care doctor was trying to figure out what was wrong. She could not, so she referred me to Orthopedics New England, and it has been the best care I have ever received. Dr. Rose is so caring and compassionate and I can’t say all the words I would like to on how wonderful he is. He first said that he wanted to surgically fix my ankle and then the next appointment I had with him, he said I re-looked at your MRI’S and he said it some place where I really don’t want to do surgery. So I accepted that and he referred me to a wonderful physical therapist that he has been working with for over 30+ years. He takes the time to sit down and talk to his patients which I really like. He likes to exhaust all options before going the surgery route. I would recommend Dr. Mark Rose D.P.M. to any one that need foot or ankle help. Dr. Healy is amazing! He fixed my hip and there was a lot of damage. I went to several doctors before him and none of them took the time to talk to me or explain things. I broke my ankle – fibula – on black ice when I slipped. I went to the ER and they referred me to Dr. Healy. The office in Newton was polite, courteous, and professional. They took x-rays and then I met with Dr. Healy. Three weeks later I met again with Dr. Healy at the Natick office. Again, the staff was polite, and professional. Both offices are nice. Regarding Dr. Healy – attentive, professional, kind, informative. He told me what the damage to my ankle was, explained how we were going to address the process of restoring it to functionality. He was not rushed. He was patient. And he was kind. I read in the reviews about ‘wait time’, personally, I found the services to be timely. But, if anyone did have to wait, I would say to be patient…as you want a doctor who doesn’t rush and

who spends time with you actually discussing your care in a patient and detailed manner. So, far, I am pleased. Highly pleased. And I would not hesitate one moment in highly recommending Dr. Healy.

Dear Dr. Gottlieb;
I would like to take a moment to thank you and your staff for the wonderful care that I received when I had surgery at Leonard Morse last month. On April 10th I had shoulder surgery performed by Dr. Ethan Healy with Dr. Dennis Rand providing anesthesiology care. The surgical and anesthesiology care was excellent and the surgical nurse care was excellent as well. I also want to mention the pre-op care which was also great.Post-surgery I stayed overnight and my in-hospital care was excellent as well. I would like to thank nurse Debbie Anderson (2nd shift) and Rolinda (3rd shift, unfortunately I didn’t get her last name). Their care was essential to my speedy recovery from surgery. Prior to my surgery I was initially treated in the Emergency Room and the care there was also excellent. Overall my experience at Leonard Morse/Metrowest Medical Center was great! I have never had surgery before and your excellent and caring staff made my experience more relating that I could have ever anticipated. Please thank all your staff on my behalf, I am extremely grateful for my experience at your hospital.

Daniel B. Osuch, M.D.

Dr. Osuch,

I want to thank you for everything you did to help care for my father-in-law, Mike, who broke his hip skating Sat 9/10 and landed at Lawrence General.  As a junior hospitalist, the kindness and collegiality you showed in that moment made me feel part of a community in this hospital. Everyone in your group was amazing. Dr. David Ramsden operated on him Monday evening, 9/12. Five weeks out, Mike is doing great.

He’ll be watching from the sidelines for our 3-year-old daughter’s first skating lesson tomorrow morning. But because of your help, by next season he’ll be able to hold her hand and guide that milk crate.  Thank you.

Dr. Osuch and Orthopedics New England run a first class operation that is extremely well organized, efficient and client centered. Whether you visit the office in Hopkinton or Natick you can expect the same reception and services. The practice has created a culture of excellence where there are no second class patients. The office staff and medical assistants are cordial, accommodating and pleasant. They don’t have bad days because the mutual respect and collaboration among colleagues inspires a professional, emphatic culture where patients who are hurting feel well cared for.

I have been seeing Dr Osuch for shoulder problems for the past two years, had Rotator cuff surgery last October and receive cortisone injections as well. I am active for 67 years old and wanted to heal and stay active. Dr. O is very thorough and provides you with every possible treatment option and a candid risk and reward profile for each one. I feel fortunate to have an Ortho I can count on who is always accessible when needed. He returns all calls and messages in a timely manner.

I have also visited Dr. Sganga for foot problems, receiving the same class A care.

Dr. Osuch repaired my knee with arthroscopic surgery and it was a welcome success. Even after 1 day of recovery, I felt better than I had in years. Certainly every surgical situation is different, but after my experience with him I have confidence that any patient of his would be in good hands with him attending. It is rare to find doctors who are good in the diagnosis and OR, as well as in recovery and post-op. Warm and caring “bedside manners” can be hard to come by these days. With Dr. Osuch, I felt he was attendant to how I was feeling… physically and emotionally… in addition to doing the superb surgical work itself. He took the time to explain and to listen. Subsequent to my surgery I found out that he has worked with other friends of mine: we all had the same positive, helpful, productive experience, and we all would recommend him without hesitation. A+++ in my book. Thank you.

I first staring seeing Dr. Osuch in June with regards to pain in my right shoulder. He was very thorough in his testing and thought processes throughout my whole experience. Come to find out I had tore my labrum. He was not quick to jump to surgery as he wanted to explore ever option. I did follow through with a SLAP repair surgery. Pre and post op he was very informative of what I should expect. He explained every step of the process and made me feel more comfortable with the surgery. I am now almost 3 months post op and am very happy with my results. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and return to him if I were to have an future injuries. He is for sure one of the most informative, friendly, and trustworthy doctors I have had.

Dr. Osuch is an amazing doctor! He cares about his patients and wants them to have as little pain as possible. He did knee surgery on my left knee in 2013 and just did my right knee two weeks ago. Due to my diabetes I have a longer recovery process, and Dr. Osuch had made sure that I have the least painful recovery process as possible. I would recommend him to anyone and it’s nice to know that there are still doctors that care about their patients and Dr. Osuch is definitely one of them!

November 29, 2011
Dear Sirs,
I am a 68-year-old man who had never had any surgery of any type in my entire life and I was totally doctor-phobic. Additionally, I’m a fanatical bike rider and dancer, who plays tennis and skis regularly. My knee was my life. My girl friend Kathleen Jackson NP of Charles River Associates referred me to: DR. DANIEL B. OSUCH to repair a torn meniscus in my left knee. It would be hard to describe the intense degree of fear I had surrounding the prospect of going “under the knife” for the first time. Also I might add, that my sister is Christian Scientist, so my family history did not support what I was about to do. Dr. Osuch, with his kind, low-key, assuaging manner was able to defuse some of my extreme paranoia about the impending operation. Dr. Osuch never portrayed any arrogance or a pedantic attitude while thoroughly explaining what the operation would involve. I never felt rushed by him, nor did he ever dismiss my fears, but instead he played along with my twisted brand of humor, which I used to hide my fears. His bed-side manner is deserving of a “Emmy” and one believes that it is real, because his face agrees with what he says. The operation was a miraculous success. I never took any pain medication that I was given. I followed Dr Osuch’s “flexible activity instructions” and after 6 weeks I’m feeling like I’m about 90% back to being whole again and I’m able to ride my bike 25 miles and dance as I wish.

I hope that other patients are never apprehensive about Dr.Osuch’s young-boy’s face and thinking that he may not have the acumen that a grey -haired doctor might have, but I think his generation has had a huge advantage in growing up with video games and increasing their manual dexterity beyond the level of their older peers. That is just my theory, however the fact still prevails that Dr. Osuch is a great surgeon.

Thank you Dr. Osuch for keeping my life whole.

You told me that you didn’t think I would have a lot of pain from the surgery and I didn’t. AND you noticed something was wrong with my left hip watching me walk. Orthopedics New England is a phenomenal place. Everyone from the front desk to the x-ray techs to the doctors (Dr. Sullivan and Osuch) is all so pleasant and helpful. I feel very lucky to have you as my doctor. You are the perfect model of how doctors should engage with their patients. I am forever grateful.

Over the last 2.5 years, I’d had very disabling pain in both my thumbs and arms. Dr. Saillant did surgery on both sides – at different times – and is both an extraordinary human being, and an extraordinary surgeon. I was in an car accident at the end of last year. I had a broken fibula and not happy with what I was told by the doctors at the hospital I was taken after the accident, I decided to contact Dr. Sganga who had previously taken care of a problem in my toe with great success. Best thing I ever did. Dr. Sganga did not disappoint! He was direct, informative and made me feel very comfortable with his conclusion that it would be better for me to have surgery and secure the break this way. All went extremely well and I healed fast and was able to get my leg back very fast!

I have a genetic condition; Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which makes things slightly more difficult for healing. Most doctors have not heard of it and Dr Sganga knew about and was willing to treat me. I had seen him previously for the same ankle and this time I had fallen down my stairs when my ankle rolled out on me and dislocated it again. Dr Sganga did a complete repair of the degenerative ligaments. I am very pleased with all staff and the way he was able to treat me and with the continued care because of the extra healing and recovery time I need with my EDS. I highly recommend his services and will continue to use Orthopedics New England for all future needs. I am confident that they can help me with my special care requirements.

Gosh, it’s still hard to believe that over 10 years of 24/7 pain are gone now and have been for the last 4 months (and counting).
I first met Dr. Sganga last summer and after a few visits decided to give surgery a try after a diagnosis was finally made after years and years of ongoing pain from an ankle sprain from 2010! Even though I was nervous about the surgery, I knew deep down I was in good hands. Having worked in healthcare since 2013 I must say what initially boosted my confidence in him was his genuinely caring approach. I feel like in this day and age that is so hard to come by. Thank you so much Dr. Sganga. I truly have my life back. And thank you to the rest of the team who give others like me their lives back too!

I decided the time had come to fix two problems with my right foot. I was developing a bunion, most likely partially due to an injury that caused my second tow to completely cross on top of the big toe. It was never extremely painful but could cause problems in dress shoes. When asking for a second opinion from a local podiatrist I was sent to Dr. Michael Sganga. From the first appointment he offered an expert plan to correct both problems. Details were fully explained and arrangements were quickly handled. Now a mere 12 weeks out, I am able to function as if there never was an issue. He and the staff at Orthopedic New England were a pleasure to work with. Both the Hopkinton and Natick offices are very easy to get to as well.

I’m less than 24 hours out of surgery and felt the need to sing extraordinary praise about/to Dr. Michael Sganga. I met Dr. Sanga six months ago on the referral of my PCP; he had recommended that I see Dr. Sganga for my badly deformed toes; with pain important to note I had already had two different surgeries on both feet 10-15 years ago, and both progressively worsened; pain and the aesthetic. After meeting with Dr. Sganga, I was convinced he possessed supreme podiatric knowledge and experience dealing with abnormalities like mine. He immediately provided confidence that he could alleviate my pain and improve the look of my badly deformed toes. He spent enough time explaining and highlighting x-rays in a fashion no other surgeon ever had which was outstanding. In fact, in less than 10 minutes, Dr. Sganga said, “We can fix those. I have seen worse”, music to my ears! I even had my daughter, who was having some foot pain, see Dr. Sganaga, and after seeing him one time, reports her foot is feeling dramatically better! Yesterday, Dr. Sganga operated on my foot, and the entire procedure went extremely well I’m told. Frankly, a bit too soon for me to tell in entirety, but Dr. Sganga seemed very pleased with the outcome and stated, it went better than he could have hoped for.

Important to note, Dr. Sganga has a fantastic delivery early on; he’s humble yet supremely confident, patient with questions no matter how elementary I’m sure to him. Above all, he’s a wonderful listener, brings warmth and a caring empathy to every engagement, and a bedside manner like family! It’s early in the recovery process for sure but I can’t say enough about this extraordinary professional young man he is quite simply exceptional! PS. My Anesthesiologist, Dr. Mathew Martinez, was highly professional and great to deal with as well. In fact, the entire experience was well orchestrated, both nurses’ pre- op Kevin and Roxanne post couldn’t have been better or nicer.

Daniel R. Trainor, PA-C

As a CrossFit & Fitness Gym owner/coach/instructor/trainer, mom, and a completive athlete, my body goes through a lot every day. I struggle with shoulder issues and a lot of wear and tear. I recently competed in the CrossFit Age Group Quarterfinals. Leading up to this, I developed a serious strain w/ inflammation in and around my bicep tendons/anterior deltoids. I called the best facility in the area, Ortho N.E., hoping someone would be able to get right to the issue due to all my responsibilities and competition ahead. Feeling very defeated that I would not be able to compete after so much commitment to training, Daniel Trainor, PA-C, stepped right in. I was able to see him within 24 hours; he knew exactly how to treat me, along with specific protocol to follow. He gave me after care exercises, follow up check ins, and because of the personal care he gave, I was able to compete and landed 26th in N.E. Never lost a day of work. Daniel Trainor is 5 STAR and he truly cares about you as a person, and he allowed me to get right back to what love to do, and I’m so much stronger for it. Everyone at Orthopedics NE is amazing. I am grateful to Dan for his outstanding work and allowing me to continue to do what I love and to be PAIN-FREE!
